Commissioned by Tampines Town Council to design two wall murals celebrating festivals from Singapore’s multi-racial community.
The first mural features Chinese New Year and Hari Raya celebrations, brought to life with interactive 3D props. In the Chinese New Year scene, visitors can sit at a real dining table and pose as if enjoying the painted reunion dinner, complete with traditional elements like Chinese spring couplets.

For the Hari Raya scene, a long bench is placed in front of painted festive dishes, inviting visitors to “join” the celebration. The mural also features painted Katong shophouses, with 3D bamboo oil lamps (Pelita Raya) placed along the steps to add a festive and nostalgic touch.

The second mural features Deepavali and Christmas celebrations. As requested by the Town Council, both murals depict the festivals in home settings. The Deepavali scene begins with a rangoli artwork at the HDB corridor, complemented by marigold flower and brass hanging diya props. As we enter the home, we’re greeted by a framed artwork of a pair of peacocks.

At the center of the mural, a long table displays festive foods from both celebrations, Gulab Jamun, Vada Pav, Samosas, and Murukku on one side, and Christmas turkey, log cake, and pudding on the other. Through the windows by the sofa, the home reveals the iconic Tampines HDB blocks featuring the TV test pattern design. A decorated Christmas tree and stacks of presents complete the festive atmosphere.

As part of YMCA’s Find Your Y challenge and to celebrate the building’s 40th anniversary, I worked with 10 of Y ART FELT’s special needs artists to produce a 3-meter artwork depicting the sky view from YMCA’s rooftop. This mural also marks the completion of the Tower Challenge, where participants leave their thumbprints on the pool area of the mural.
YMCA Tower Challenge is an effort to advocate and raise funds for programmes supporting youth at risk and youth with special needs. Participants took part in the Longest Mass Continuous Stairs Climb, clocking 180 hour, making it into the Singapore Book of Records.

Vibrant shophouses and strong Peranakan heritage are the hallmarks of Katong. At the heart of its growing tradition, the medley of people and food spice up the alleys of lively Katong. The two walls in Medley Alley unite to form wings that represent the metamorphosis between generations and the modern interpretation of the iconic Peranakan tiles.
The artists embodied the cultural backbone by intensifying the flavours of Katong with their artistry and eccentricity.

The 1970s was everything but boring. A decade that played a pivotal role in shaping the future for the better. From the counterculture movement that dismantled social stigmas and taboos, peace movements, and the birth of great music.
In embodying the spirit of spreading love, “Boogie in the Dark” is an underwater 70s disco-themed party, where sea creatures of all kind come together to celebrate diversity.
